DISCO RIOT creates space, offers resources and provides sustained support that movement artists in San Diego need to thrive. We’re facing a significant GAP, an empty space left from losing critical funds needed to ensure stable ground for community, justice, and movement as a form of radical expression. Please help us Fund the Gap.

During a turbulent time for community-based arts organizations, Fund the Gap is our call to action. Your gift isn’t just a donation; it is the physical bridge that connects artists’ potential to their professional success and creative impact. It means more equitable access to movement-art across communities; growing social consciousness and connection through collaborative, thought-provoking art and education.

When you help us Fund the Gap, you invest in artists who challenge boundaries, spark dialogue, and build belonging. Together, we can create a more collaborative San Diego arts community – creating a culture where dance is not just an art – it is a force for change, inclusion, and collective joy. Let’s riot together against the erosion of government support for critical programs that prioritize inclusion, accessibility, and art as a necessity.

Your gift bridges the gap. Your support powers the (r)evolution. We invite you to join us.

Our Goals:

Bolster our programs that continuously offer critical resources to independent artists from San Diego and beyond to develop and share meaningful movement-based art.

Strengthen our organization in the realms of professional growth and collective accountability both within DISCO RIOT and for all the beautiful humans we serve. We dream of a model that offers a sustainable alternative to traditional power structures. One that respects, hears, and uplifts all voices.

The Challenges:

  • Funding challenges due to the current political climate directly impact arts funding nationally and locally. Individual support is more important than ever to ensuring we can keep our core programs supported and thriving.

  • Continued transition into a shared leadership structure requires significant operational support. The transition demands consistent funding for experimentation, properly resourcing staff, and infrastructure development to support this vision.

What You Can Do:

  • Donate! Individual support is crucial to advancing our mission at a time when funding is on the line.

  • Join us! Participate in classes, attend events, and volunteer. DISCO RIOT is grounded in community, and we look forward to connecting with you more personally, in whatever way you are called!

  • Be an ally! Your allyship fuels our movement – we can’t do this work alone. Your supportive presence in the movement keeps the DISCO RIOT mission in motion.

Please help us Fund the Gap! Your support helps ground the vibrant dance community we’ve built together, ensuring our programs thrive and our mission continues for years to come.

We are currently at $1,000 of our $65,000 goal
