“You can be soft and still be sturdy. You can be a force and still be delicate.” – Alex Elle
Handle with Care is a PSA to acknowledge, bring awareness and start a conversation around the tripartite plight of Black women in America. Many Black women have experienced police brutality; however, the combination of sexism and classism has placed Black women in a more vulnerable position. Black Womxn Deserve Better.
GirlTrek Presents: The Black Girl Justice League
“This is the largest voter mobilization effort led by Black women.
GirlTrek is reactivating the #BlackGirlJusticeLeague this September through Election Day 2020 by encouraging Black women around the country to be civically engaged, informed, and, most importantly, to EARLY VOTE.
The November election is imperative — it not only determines our next commander-in-chief, but the local and state officials who will lead our communities. We must have a say in who that is. We can not sit this out. We have a right and responsibility to make our voices heard and they matter more now than ever before.
Democracy only works when we show up.”

My name Alyssa Junious and I am an Artist, Educator, and Creator. I was born in San Diego and raised by two military veterans. I received my BFA in Performance and Choreography from the University of California, Irvine. For the past 10 years, I have worked professionally in the commercial dance, concert dance and theater industry. As a social conscious artist, I am dedicated to creating work that engages the community and created Art in Conversation. This work is an immersive performance art residency where I partner with community art spaces and collaborate with various artists. I am the founder of Continuum and choreograph throughout Southern California. I am fascinated with the moving body and train dancers, athletes and fitness enthusiasts using the pilates method. I found a way to combine my love for arts & wellness and co-founded Soultry Sisters, where I empower women to lead conscious, holistic and creative lives. I am currently a teaching artist at Maraya Performing Arts and Hillstreet Country Club. This is my first project with Disco Riot and I am excited to be a part of an organization that uses art to inspire. To learn more visit AlyssaRJunious.com and continuum.sd
