The Chrysalis: Monarch School Center for the Arts is a 6,000 square foot space that houses Monarch’s first theatre stage, professional dance studio, a music room, and a maker’s space and gallery for visual art. The Chrysalis is a Creative Youth Development hub – a vibrant and versatile space where our youth and community members of all ages can explore the visual and performing arts in a multiplicity of ways. We are excited to partner with individual artists and community arts organizations to co-create events and spaces that celebrate humanity, artistry, and community building.
The mission of the Monarch School Arts Department is to create arts-based spaces that allow youth, families, and community members to access, amplify, and elevate their voice, self-expression, identity, and agency. We utilize a Creative Youth Development approach ensuring that our students experience spaces that cultivate their voice, leadership potential, and authentic identity. We believe that the arts offer a sense of belonging and home.
